Easy Boho Summer Braid Tutorial
This boho braid is SO easy, and is perfect for summer! I feel like a mermaid when I’m wearing this boho braid, and you will too.
This braid is just topsy turvys stacked upon one another. Since the braid is held by elastics, it’s extremely secure! Don’t be afraid to pinch and pull this braid as much as you would like to get your desired volume, because it’s not going anywhere! The bigger the braid, the better!
To create more length and volume with this style, I’m wearing Bellami 24-inch clip in extensions. Extensions definitely are not necessary for this style. I have rocked this style several times without extensions and it still looked gorgeous!
This style is great because you can dress it up or down. It can be worn to a wedding, date night, or if you just want to spice up an everyday look!
What do you need to create this style?
-Hair elastics (clear if you’re blonde, dark if you’re brunette)
-Texture Powder: I love Kristin Ess Loose Styling Powder
-Beach wave spray: I used The Beachwaver's Shubie Beach Surf Spray
Step by Step Instructions:
1-Curl hair to form beach waves! Remember to keep the last 2-3 inches of your hair out of the curling iron to get that beachy/undone look
2- Part your hair to the side
3- Section off 2 inches of hair near your part, secure with elastic wrapping it 2-3 times depending on the thickness of your hair
3-Split the hair above the elastic in half
4-Put your fingers through the hole and pull the hair secured in the elastic through the hole (you just did a topsy turvy!)
4-Apply texture powder to topsy turvy
5- Pinch and Pull to expand the topsy turvy and create volume!
6-Repeat until your braid is at its desired length
7- Apply your favorite beach wave spray! I used the Shubie Spray by the Beachwaver!
