Crown Braid Tutorial to Channel Your Inner Queen

Hi Braiders! Today I'm here to share with you one of my all time favorite hairstyles, the crown braid! This style is romantic, bohemian, and gives me all the ethereal feels.

I'm not going to lie, the way I style my crown braids is for intermediate to advanced braiders. Sometimes the finger placement with this braid gets tricky! But hey, practice makes perfect. The first time I tried this style out, I totally failed. Over time and lots of practice, I've been able to perfect this style in minutes!

Watch my video tutorial on this look, so you can add a crown braid to your repertoire. Because every queen needs a crown, am I right?!

Braid 1:

7- Section off face framing pieces for the side you're working on now.

8- Dutch Braid your hair from your part line all the way back to the nape of your neck, following your hair line. Continue to braid this half of your hair all the way to the ends.

9- Pancake/ pull apart your braid.

10- Secure braid with an elastic.

Braid 2:

11- For this side, we are going to start our braid near the nape of our neck, and braid forward.

12- Once you hit your ear, reposition your hands.

13- Continue to braid along your hairline until you reach the ends of your hair.

14- Place the braid over your part, to where you want to position it, and begin to pancake.

15- Secure ends with an elastic by looping the ends.

16- Bobby pin and secure your braid into position.

Secure Braid 1:

17- Wrap braid 1 forward and tuck the ends under braid 2.

18- Bobby pin into place.

19- Hide the ends of braid 1.
